ADP Latest Database Hack Victim

ADP (Automatic Data Processing) announced Friday that hackers had broken into a third-party database and stolen business contact information. The hackers were then sending out phishing emails to those contacts in an attempt to gain account access.

ADP said that their own systems were not compromised and that the hackers did not get any bank account numbers, social security numbers or other confidential data.

The phishers were sending bogus emails with malicious attachments to ADP business contacts. These emails appeared to be from ADP, in an attempt to get the recipient to disclose account information.

So, if you are a business that uses ADP for your payroll processing, be aware of this breach. If you receive any email from ADP, it is best to contact them directly to verify whether or not they actually sent it to you. Until you find out for sure, do not click on any email links which appear to be from ADP.

  • oh, its really a shocking for all the businessman in the world. Well done ADP, done a great job. so the business people when they get anonymous mails from third persons(hackers) they should better go for scanning the mail before opening it or better don’t open it to read, i hope this saves their confidential data’s, account numbers etc., rather than opening it directly. my idea is that ADP can send this post as an email for all the ADP users for their awareness about hackers to save their business confidentials.
