Apple MacBook Pro Batteries Swelling

There have been reports of the MacBook Pro batteries swelling to such a degree that the case is deformed. In some instances, the battery remains functional. However, there have been reports of shutdowns and other malfunctions in extreme cases.

MacFixIt discusses the problem and has some pictures to prove it.
