I’ve used gizmo, but still prefer skype….
I found your blog by searching for info on wifi on Ocracoke Island. I am vacationing there next week, and was wondering how easily internet is found there. I have a highspeed data connection with verizon, but can’t really tell if there is cell phone coverage there or not. did you have any cell phone reception?
I see you mentioned that wifi was pretty accessible throughout the island…I’m assuming you had no problem getting on the internet whenever you needed to?
I appreciate your information, and I look forward to spending some time in ocracoke…keep up the good work on the blog!

Hi Dan,
You will have no problem finding wifi on the island. We rented bikes to get around and while my wife was in shopping, I would sit outside and never failed to find a connection.
There are also a few coffee shops that offer it as well, so you will have no problem.
We also had perfect cell phone reception (Alltel).
Enjoy your trip!
