Google Sponsors X-Prize Moon Landing
It seems that Google is not satisfied with Earth domination
. As part of the latest X-Prize, Google is shelling out $30 million to the team that lands a privately funded spacecraft on the Moon. Um, hello, Wallace and Gromit already did that in, like, 1989 - duh.
Google’s Senior VP of Engineering Alan Eustace said on his blog that they love space because it is cool and it has a history of producing giant breakthroughs in technology (like Tang, for instance
).
Along with the X-Prize announcement, Google also released a new version of Google Moon - sort of like the moon’s version of Google Earth - to go along with their other “space” themed tools:Google Mars and Google Sky.
So how do we advertise on Google Moon?
