Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 Released
Well, after it was first hinted at nearly 2 years ago, Microsoft has finally released Internet Explorer 7. In response to the inroads which other Internet browsers have made lately (namely, Firefox), IE7 has been totally redesigned. Most notably, it offers tabbed browsing, just like Firefox. It also claims to offer better security, which I am sure will be tested. Additionally, it offers RSS feed support, easier printing and a new look. All-in-all, IE7 has something to prove.
It is supposed to bring Microsoft into the web 2.0 era and address the abundance of security issues with Internet Explorer 6. I hope Microsoft keeps their promise of better security.
So, let the testing begin! However, before you go to Microsoft’s site to download Internet Explorer 7, take a look at this *gulp* disturbing message you will get:
I always hate stuff like that; it makes me soooo nervous. The last thing I want to happen is to loose a precious file after installing a free, “we made it better for our customers” Internet browser. However, there must be something to it or else Microsoft would not suggest this important step. Well, when I get my nerve up and after I have backed up most of my machine, I will install it and have a peek.
