Why Install the Google Toolbar?

Matt has been debunking several Google rumors lately and today, he tackles the rumor that simply installing the Google Toolbar will get your site listed on the Search Engine. Sorry … wrong.

If you install the Google Toolbar, do it because you like the additional functionality it provides, not because you are trying to get a site listed. Read his post here for all the details.

Now the Alexa toolbar on the other hand, is a totally different matter, in my opinion. Many feel that a site’s Alexa ranking can be manipulated and some companies offer this as a (cough) …er… “SEO” service.
