Google Flagging Risky Web Sites

google warningThese days, all one has to do to have malware installed on their computer is click on the wrong web site. In some cases, as soon as your browser goes to an infected web site, you are infected.

Well, Google has started identifying these malicious web sites and is now posting warnings to potential visitors. If one tries to surf to a risky web site, they will see a warning message like the one displayed on the right.

By definition, a risky web site would be one that might install malicious software on your computer. For a full detail of what to look out for, visit StopBadware’s web site.

I think this is a good idea overall and I am sure that most (if not all) of the sites that get flagged are really malicious. However, I am sure someone will get marked and will not be operating a malicious site. If that happens, there is a way the webmaster can officially plead his/her case.
