PayPerPost and Performancing Deal Off

January 5, 2007

Nick announced on the Performancing site that the PayPerPost / Performancing Deal is off and Metrics will become Open Source. In Nick’s words:

After much discussion, we’ve decided that the deal proposed by PayPerPost just isn’t right for us or our community. It’s regrettable that we should part ways as I still feel that Dan and Ted are stand up guys breaking new ground, but in the end, the deal was just not right for them or us.

Regarding Metrics, the blog stats tracking portion of Performancing, Open Source means developers can try their hand at managing it. It will probably take some time to get everything in order and Nick suggests Feedburner’s metrics tracking as an option if you do not want to wait.
