There is an unpatched flaw in Microsoft Excel. This “hole” could (and has already) allow a hacker to access and hijack your computer. Until it is patched, be very wary of any email you receive which contains an Excel spreadsheet file.
If you open an infected Excel file, a Trojan (Mdropper.j Trojan horse) will be loaded onto your system. This Trojan will then drop a Downloader (Booli.a downloader) onto your computer and it is this program that will give the attacker total access to your PC. He can then install other malicious software, such as keyloggers, or use the machine as a spam
zombie.
Until Microsoft releases a patch for this problem, be extra careful of any email attachment with a .xls file extension.
