A hacker has discovered a flaw with Adobe PDF. If exploited, a hacker could take advantage of legitimate Adobe PDF files and open back doors in the affected computer.
Here is roughly how it works: A user receives an email with a PDF document attached. This PDF document contains a malicious link. The user opens the document and the user’s web browser is automatically launched and directed to the embedded link in the PDF file. Of course, a hacker would set up the link to direct to a malicious web site.
With the prevalence of Adobe PDF on the web, I am sure that Adobe will/is investigating this problem and will issue a response/fix soon. In the meantime, be wary of email messages with PDF attached.
