Google Sitemaps has a new name: Google Webmaster Central. Since last year, it has been the location for webmasters to submit their URLs, view your web site’s, your robots.txt file and more.
Now, Google has changed the name and added some additional features. For example:
- The Summary Page has some new icons and colors to help you see some things that might be wrong with your site.
- There is a new Crawl Error report that will alert you to errors that Google has found in your page.
- You can even adjust the crawl rate at which Google travels your site. This is handy if your site get crawled allot by Google. Ours is crawled several times per day and sometimes that ads up to allot of occupied bandwidth. This feature is in Alpha right now, so if you don’t have this option yet, it will be available soon.
These are the main changes and additions, but there are a few other minor things as reported in this post by Google.
