Well… with only minor damage, we made it through the storm. After speaking with several other area residents, most agree that it was a little more than we expected.
Several that live on the Swansboro waterfront commented on the higher-than-anticipated winds that came along with Ernesto. Some have even commented that, based on comparisons with the numerous hurricanes that they have been through in the past, Ernesto must have acheived hurricane strength prior to landfall.
Additionally, we had a few roads washed out from all the water associated with the storm. Jacksonville also had several roads closed due to flooding.
Maybe that will be all that we have to go through this year. That would be nice.
