Wireless Internet Access has gone through the roof lately and Sony is launching its first WiFi broadband communication and entertainment device to tap in on that growth. If you use instant messaging for your main communication, then the mylo™ for you. The name mylo is short for “my life online” and this nifty little gadget lets users instant message, browse the Internet, listen to tunes, send emails and view photos all at the same time.
It is small enough to fit in your pocket or your purse and it features a 2.4 inch color LCD screen with a slide out QWERTY keyboard for quick thumb typing without carpel tunnel ;).
It is available in black or white and comes with several handy applications pre-installed. For example:
These services are free and the product does not require initial computer setup or a monthly service contract. It also includes JiWire’s hotspot directory which lists more than 20,000 WiFi networks in the US. Meaning, you can get up and get away from your desk and still get online.
Once the unit boots up (it is really quick) the “What’s Up” screen serves as the brains page; it stores up to 90 of your buddies avatars which allows you to quickly see who is online.
While you are chatting or surfin’ the net with the built-in web browser, you will love the 1GB flash memory. This much memory will allow you to play music at the same time. Mylo will play MP3, ATRAC® or WMA (secure and unsecure) files and the built-in speaker will allow others to hear, if you want. The 1GB memory will also let you view MPEG-4 personal videos. You can also store JPEG pictures from the Internet or your digital camera. Shop the official SONY store for exclusive products & services, special offers and savings.
